One choreographer brings a piece. Two “wreckers” take it apart and rebuild it as their own. In the end, all three versions are performed live.

This time, the piece is Loves Me Not — a solo choreographed and performed by Catherine Messina that explores queer identity, limerence, and finding love. Julie Mayo and Chris Black do the wrecking. Our facilitator, Christy Funsch, learned wrecking directly from Rethorst and has been presenting public wrecking events since 2014.

Come spend the afternoon on the DANCE DECK. The Wrecking unfolds over three hours, and you're welcome to come and go throughout — grab a drink or snack from the outdoor kitchen, watch for a while, take a break, come back. Stay for the cookout afterwards!
